![]() O'brien Waysome of Jamaica College. ... Waysome predicts dark blues' victory SHAYNE FAIRMAN, STAR Writer Long jump and triple jump sensation O'Brien Waysome is confident the dark blue outfit of Jamaica College (JC) will reign supreme in sport, again, and claim their 22nd hold on the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association/Grace Kennedy Boys' Championships, later this month. The Old Hope Road-based institution last won the coveted Champs title in 2011, unlike their continued dominance of schoolboy football. The back-to-back Manning Cup and all island schoolboy football champions will need to overcome Kingston College who have won 31 titles, and defending champions, Calabar, who have amassed 23 wins. "JC definitely for Champs. I see us winning of course. I am confident we will win," Waysome told STAR Sports in a recent interview. "We have a strong, determined and a good all round team. I will be doing my best to bring glory for my school," he added. Preparations The class one star noted that: "Preparations are going great, I am feeling fine. I can't say I am in a class by myself, there is always competition and room for improvement, but I will be doing my best." The teen is one of few juniors to have achieved at the highest level internationally too, with a second-place finish at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China, last year. He also had a sterling start this season with a brilliant 16.12 metre jump in the under-20 category at the Queen's/Grace Jackson Invitational recently, and maintains that he will be going all-out to break Boys' champs long/triple jumps records.
