Popular sound system Snipa International will be hosting its 8th anniversary tomorrow. The Standpipe, St Andrew-based sound system is known for playing at some of the most popular inner-city events, and according its owner, Christopher 'Boxer' Bryce, also a former selector of veteran sound systems Travellers and African Star, the event is about celebrating unexpected success. "This is a cause to celebrate because this sound is now almost a decade old. I didn't know that we would last that long in the business, and we are going to go more years because we love the music. "I have been playing for many years on many established sound systems and I wanted to own mine. It was an ambition, and come this Saturday, we will be showing our fans that we appreciate them while we celebrate," Bryce said. Bryce also revealed that he would be giving away prizes including a fan, a cellphone, gift baskets, a television, among other things. The event will be hosted at Northside Plaza, across from the US Embassy in Liguanea. Admission is $500. |
