RAYMOND GRAHAM, STAR Writer

Chairman of the Gibson McCook Relays organising committee, Rainford Wilks, said all is set for tomorrow's 39th staging of the relays which will get under way at 9:30 a.m with the preliminary round of the high school boy's 4x400 metres.

"Everything is in place. We expect another fantastic staging and as usual we will be starting on time as the officials will be in place for a prompt start and also security and the buses which will be used to transport fans after the meet will also be in place,"said Wilks.

"Things started off on Wednesday night with the Howard Aris Memorial Lecture at the University of Technology auditorium where renowned track and field coach, Stephen Francis, was the presenter. He spoke about common technical controversies in Jamaica's track and field coaching and it was well supported," said Wilks.

Wilks also stated that beside the top high school teams attending the meet, all the big name clubs including MVP, Racers, Akan, and Sprint Tech will be present.

Digicel will be awarding the Teddy McCook Trophy along with cash prize of $150,000 to the top performing school.

The telecommunications company will also give cash prizes of $75,000 each to the top male and female team.

In addition, they will be giving cash incentive to the winner of the boy's class three 4x100m relay team.

There will be 10 championship events where the winners will receive Gibson McCook Relays commemorative watches.

The class two high school boys 4x100m will be the new addition to this year's list.
