A barber who allegedly chopped off the index finger of a man he allegedly owed money will have to wait until after a preliminary hearing in the matter is conducted before his fate is decided. Charged with felonious wounding is Lincoln Johnson. When the matter was called up on Monday in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's court, the accused did not enter a plea. Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey also cited discrepancies with the medical report. The court heard that the complainant also lost sight in his right eye during the incident. Allegations are that after the complainant went to Johnson, the two had a dispute during which a machete was used by Johnson to inflict wounds to the back of the complainant's head. During the tussle the complainant allegedly used his hand to block another attack by Johnson and his index finger was cut off. The court heard that the complainant's eye was damaged after the accused used the handle of the machete to hit him in his face. RM Pusey asked the complainant, "The eye was perfectly fine before the attack?" He told the court, yes. Johnson is alleged to have owed the complainant $11,000. He is to return to court on April 8.
