Star Tell Me Pastor

My wife wants half of everything

Dear Pastor,

I am having a problem. I have two children. Their mother and I broke up, but we are not yet divorced. It has been three years. She is living with another man. That is the man she cheated on me with. When I found out, we had a big fight and she moved out. The children are grown but are living with me.

I have a lady friend, but she doesn't come to the house. She has never slept here with me, though nobody would interfere with her.

Out of respect for my children, she doesn't sleep here. She lives alone, so sometimes I go and sleep at her house.

My wife is always saying that I will have to sell the house and give her her portion. This woman has not put a cent into this house and my children know it, so they say to me, "Daddy, don't listen to mommy." I have other properties and she wants half of everything.

Pastor, what can I do? She doesn't deserve anything.

M.M.

Dear M.M.,

You need to go and see a lawyer. Your wife should be treated fairly, but this is really a matter for a lawyer. Make sure that you choose one who is experienced in divorce and real estate. I wish you well.
