Still no breakthrough in Fletcher's Land killing

Bjorn Burke, Staff Reporter

Up to late yesterday, detectives from the Fletcher's Land Police Station say they have yet to bring a still-at-large suspect to justice, following last Friday's shooting death of a man along a section of East Street, downtown Kingston.

The deceased man has been identified as 44-year-old labourer Sheldon 'Genks' Johnson.

The police's Corporate Communications Unit reports that on February 13, Johnson was sitting along a section of the roadway when an armed man approached him and opened fire. He was reportedly hit several times.

Subsequently, Johnson was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No motive has yet been established for the attack.

Investigations continue.
