Good start to 2015 for Nature |
|||||
![]() Nature Carl Gilchrist, Star Writer With an album release slated for later this year, Downsound Recording artiste Nature is enjoying a good start to 2015. First, there was his memorable performance at Rebel Salute in January, followed by his double performance at the Bob Marley celebrations at Trench Town, Kingston, and Nine Miles, St Ann. Along the way, the Rastafarian artiste found the time to perform for inmates at the St Catherine Adult Correctional Centre in Spanish Town. Nature's upward movement as a conscious reggae artiste then continued on Valentine's Day when he rocked the Nine-Mile Music Festival in Miami, opening the show, which featured Marley brothers Stephen, Damion, and Julian, along with Stephen's son, Jo Mersa. The line-up also featured Grammy nominees SOJA, Capleton, Tanya Stephens, Jesse Royal, The Green, and Iqulah Rastafari. Nature's performance at the show was noteworthy, given the significance of the Nine-Mile Music Festival, which began 22 years ago, thanks to Cedella Marley Booker. The festival has a commitment to doing good and spreading love. It has been responsible for collecting more than two million cans of food items over the years, which are distributed to shelters in Miami and to charities in Jamaica. Patrons are asked to contribute canned goods when they purchase tickets to the event. With this latest performance behind him, Nature is now looking forward to a European tour to promote his album, which should be released by March. "Within two months, my first album will be out and I will be going on tour pretty soon after that in Europe," Nature told The Star after his Rebel Salute performance in January. He said that the 16-track album would be filled with positive music. "Look out for just positive music. Nature's album gonna take you on a journey". |
