Technician faces court for unlawful possession

More than 140 electronic devices were recovered by the Half-Way Tree police, during a raid which was carried out in the Clock Tower Plaza, Kingston 10, yesterday.

One man was arrested in connection with the find.

On January 15, two motor vehicles were broken into and two Apple Mac Pro laptops were stolen.

Investigations led officers to a store, where these stolen items were identified.

A subsequent search of the property was done and more than 100 cell phones, 30 laptop chargers, six tablets, three laptops, two external hard drives and a Playstation 2 and other paraphernalia were seized.

Charged is 23-year-old cellular phone technician, Chevon Satchwell of Ensom City, St Catherine. He is to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday, February 19, to answer to a charge of receiving stolen property.

He is also expected to be charged with unlawful possession.

Members of the public are being warned against purchasing items that are suspected to be stolen. The revenue from the sale of these items is believed to fund other criminal activities and promote robberies in the corporate area.
