Nicko Blast releases 'Full Blast' mixtape

Trying to make a name as a recording artiste in the Jamaican music industry can be quite a daunting exercise. However, being armed with the right amount of talent, patience, determination and a good team, can make the journey less treacherous, and that is what up-and-coming deejay Nicko Blast is aiming to accomplish.

One of the newest members of the Aidonia-led JOP camp, Nicko Blast has been creating quite a buzz with his latest mixtape dubbed Full Blast.

The 27-track compilation showcasing his lyrical prowess is laden with potential hit-bound singles for all demographics in the Jamaican entertainment space.

According to Nicko Blast, the dancehall scene is extremely competitive and it is important that you work hard to make good music for everyone.

"The mixtape is a nice collection of songs. It has something for everyone. From the gangsters to the corporate executives and definitely a few tracks for the ladies, I've been embarking on an intense campaign to get the music out there, so people can know who Nicko Blast is. So far, the feedback has been good and people have been very receptive to my work."

Though under the tutelage of Aidonia for only one year, Blast added that being a part of the JOP camp is a great opportunity as it allows him to learn about the industry and how to overcome daily challenges faced by burgeoning acts like himself.

No stranger to the big stage, this 24-year-old has been entertaining fans within the past year on some of the biggest events across Jamaica, including the recently concluded islandwide Magnum Road Show, Westmoreland Jamboree and several other shows in Portland, St Catherine and Kingston and St Andrew.
