Greg Fuzionz recording artiste Salanyde Saffari is getting ready to drop the video for his thought-provoking reggae single titled 'Downtown'. Downtown was released last October. Since then, it has enjoyed strong rotation on a number of popular local radio stations including IRIE FM and HITZ 92 FM. The video for the single was filmed under the direction of Richard Davis of Shot Video productions and features some of downtown Kingston's most famous landmarks including the Kingston Waterfront, Parade, Beckford Street and West Street. "I believe downtown is the heartbeat of the city. It's one of the most vibrant places in Jamaica. There are a lot of activities taking place downtown Kingston every day; people are selling their goods trying to make a living, there is fashion, entertainment and a lot fun. Often times when you hear about downtown, you hear about the negatives, but I want to show the world that there are also a lot positive things happening there too. That's what my song and the video is about," said Salanyde Saffari. The video is being edited and should be ready for release before the end February. Also on the cards for Salanyde Saffari is the release of his debut EP titled For Eva Burning, which is slated to be released in March. "Both the video and the EP will be ready for release in March. My team and I are planning to use the video to push the EP as much as possible," said the artiste. |
