![]() Contributed - Prodi Leighton Levy, Star Writer Entertainer Prodi has been heartened by the crowd response to his performance at the 2015 Rebel Salute held in St Ann recently. The event was held at Grizzly's Plantation Cove on January 16 and 17 and featured acts like Etana, Capleton, Tony Rebel, Luciano, Mighty Diamonds, Tarrus Riley and many others. Prior to the two-day reggae festival that is rapidly becoming one of the best that Jamaica offers, Prodi said he wanted to deliver positive messages through his music. Based on the reviews he has received so far, the message was delivered. "The feedback that I have been getting from my performance at Rebel Salute has been tremendous. A lot of people have been telling me that the performance have been of high quality. All of them have been good reviews," he said. GREAT EXPERIENCE Prodi, who last year took the decision to go mainstream instead of confining himself to just gospel music, said he enjoyed the experience performing before the thousands that had gathered for the event on the final night. "The band did well, Yaad Movement was on fire. The audience enjoyed it and that's the greatest thing," he said. "I know that I was in the will of the Most High. You could see where the media was having fun also." He praised the organisers of the event that featured many acts of a roots-and-culture persuasion and that received many positive media reviews. "Rebel Salute was a great show for me. I am very happy with my performance but there is always room for improvement, so it's just about trying to better the craft," he said. |
