Defending champs Belair win in table tennis school's league

Defending champions Belair got off to a good start in the rural section of the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association Securipro table tennis competition, as they blanked May Day 5-0 in boys' Under-19.

In urban action, Campion turned back hosts Meadowbrook 3-1 in girls' Under-19. Visitors St Jago got by St Mary's College by a similar 3-1 scoreline in girls' Under-16.

In Manchester, Belair's Kyle Cameron stopped Kishani White 3-1 in the first match. Jordan Hastings, Samuel Ricketts, Gregory Dixon and Nicholas Fairman all scored easy 3-0 wins over Randy Matthews, Shahid Bent, Malcolm Dent, and Damiel Bird, respectively, to complete Belair's 5-0 triumph.

In Kingston, Janique Lee won two matches for Campion, scoring easy 3-0 victories against Kiyana Gordon and Sheree Phipps.

Taiyna Henry overpowered Georgiana Curtis, 3-0, to secure the third victory for Campion. Phipps cruised past Asia Chung, 3-0, to pull one back for Meadowbrook.

In the Under-16 encounter between St Jago and St Mary's College, Saehja Monee Rose won two matches for St Jago, overwhelming Tiffany Davis, 3-0, and nipping Alexia Garricks 3-2.

Tianne Esson eased past Garricksm, 3-0, for St Jago's third victory. Sherri-Ann Foot overcame Audreen Leslie, 3-1, for St Mary's consolation triumph.
