Knii Lante - Contributed

Having successfully completed his mission in Jamaica, African, reggae singer Knii Lante is a very happy man.

The soft-spoken artiste who hails from Accra, Ghana, delivered an impressive performance on the first night of the recently concluded Rebel Salute two-day reggae festival, which took place at the Richmond Estate in Priory, St Ann.

"Performing at Rebel Salute was a very important stepping stone in the development of my career. Although I am an established artiste in my country, I am like a new artiste in Jamaica and I really want the Jamaican people to know about me and my music. Based on the response I received on Friday night, I think it is safe to say I am on my way to achieving this goal," he said.

Although Knii Lante's performance consisted of tracks that are unknown to the Jamaica public he commanded the stage with much gusto as he delivered songs from his True Feelings album such as Big Trees and Can't Give Up.

Good performance

"I am very pleased that the Jamaican people gave me such a warm reception at Rebel Salute. My performance went very well, the response from the crowd was great. I will never forget this experience. I really love performing for the people of Jamaica," he said.

Knii Lante, who left Jamaica on Monday, is looking forward to his next local performance. "I can't wait to perform in Jamaica again. Hopefully, I will be back to perform for my Jamaican people sometime later this year, may be in the summer if things go according to plan," he said.
