The streets are buzzing about the emergence of rhyme-spitter Young Flex PD, who is making waves with his latest single, 'Everything A Yard' with Push A Yute Productions, on the 'Up Deh' rhythm. The UK-based artiste has been on the island working on his upcoming EP. The artiste was born in the sleepy town of Morant Bay, St Thomas, and grew up in the inner city of Olympic Gardens in the Corporate Area. Still in his late 20s, Young Flex PD exudes an air of confidence in his own abilities and where he wants to be in the music industry. The single titled Everything A Yard came from the desire to be remembered as a Jamaican who didn't forget his roots. "Wherever I go in this world, I carry my culture, my identity with me," he said. Now that he has joined forces with Push A Yute, Young Flex is ready for the next step. Push A Yute Productions has returned to its core philosophy of developing young, up-and-coming acts. The label has worked with other UK acts such as Gappy Ranks in a bid to globalise reggae music. Young Flex PD will release an EP in the first quarter of this year. "We are putting in the work right now," he said.
