His appearance on the first night of the two-day music festival at the Richmond Estate, St Ann, last weekend marked an important milestone in his career. This was first time Colah Colah, real name Stephan Bygrave, performed at major music festival in his homeland. Colah Colah delivered a strong set which included songs from his cultural catalogue, such as the Bees and Steady Meady. "It was a big night for my career. The people were very receptive and the vibes were great. After I finished my performance I was greeted backstage by a lot of people who told me they enjoyed my performance," said the artiste. The humble Rastafarian singer, who does most of his performances in Europe, is very grateful he was one of the acts chosen to be part of Rebel Salute this year. "I feel privileged to be part of one of the greatest reggae festivals on earth. It was a great honour to be involved in the preservation of reggae music. I salute Tony Rebel and his team for the good work they are doing," said Colah Colah. According to Colah Colah, 2015 will be one of the busiest years of his career. "This year is going to be a very busy one for me; probably the busiest to date. I'm working on my third album. I also have several US club shows lined up, as well as a European tour later this year. I'm also scheduled to perform in Gambia and Zimbabwe before the end of the year," he said. |
