The Americans won 2-0. Paul Clarke, STAR Writer Western Bureau: Jamaica will be playing for pride when they take the field against Aruba in the final Group A game of the CONCACAF Men's Under-20 Championship in Montego Bay tonight at 8 p.m. Panama tackle Guatemala at 3 p.m. and United States take on Trinidad and Tobago at 5:30 p.m., before the hosts try to get a belated win at Aruba's expense. Head coach, Theodore Whitmore, blamed the short time he had with the squad as one of the main reasons his players have wilted under the opposition's pressure, but is looking to end on a high note. "A lot of things need to be in place moving forward," Whitmore said, in looking beyond this tournament. "We need to sit down and chart the way forward for Jamaica's football and that must begin sadly with the end here against Aruba," added Whitmore. The Jamaicans lost 1-0 to Guatemala, after playing out a nail-biting 2-2 draw with Trinidad and Tobago at the National Stadium in Kingston. They then fell 2-0 to Panama, and were thoroughly outplayed in another 2-0 loss the USA. Injuries have not been kind to the hosts either, with top striker Michael Seaton among a list of players suffering. Team captain Junior Flemmings also missed the US game because of card accumulation. Panama have been the form team and need just a draw against Guatemala today to top Group A and book their tickets to the Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand. Panama have 12 points from four wins while Guatemala are on 10 and can top the group with a win today. In Group B action from Monday night, Honduras defeated Haiti 3-2 to move to seven points and a play-off place eliminating Haiti, Canada and Cuba in the process.
