Ruffi-Ann records tribute to her late mother

Ruffi-Ann

Ruffi-Ann recently released the video for her single titled 'Mama Precious'. The song and video was inspired by her late mother, Louise Peterkin, who passed away in 2013.

Ruffi-Ann describes her mother as a jovial and caring person who was always there for her children.

"My mother did everything for us", the artiste said. "She worked hard and provided for her children. Our mother was very loving and supportive of all her children."

Mama Precious was recorded in 2014 and was featured on Ruffi-Ann's debut album called Save the Juvenile. The album that was produced by Dean Fraser was released the same year.

Ruffi-Ann believes Mama Precious will resonate with people worldwide. "If you listen to the words of this song, you'll realise it speaks of different situations that a lot of people can relate to. Even more than that, it speaks of the loving relationship between a mother and her children,' she said.

The video was produced by Sugar Pan Productions, directed by J Beck and edited by David Sinclair. It was shot at various locations in Kingston.

Ruffi-Ann plans to release a number of new singles during the course of the year, including songs such as Drink And Smoke With Yuh Enemy and Weh Dem Ah Pree.
