Time for prayer and fasting

Position in church: Minister

How long have you been saved? I got saved in 1987.

moment of conviction: It came about at a tender age. While I was in primary school, my teachers were always talking about the coming of the Lord and all of that. So I was influenced by my class teacher, one Miss Malcolm, principal for Tavares Garden Primary School. She influenced me a lot.

Most challenging moment since being saved: My most challenging moment since being saved has to do with my ability to continue earnestly in prayer and fasting. With this fast-going world, every day you get up and you are here there and everywhere. So I have to find time to be able to continue to pray and fast as I am supposed to. So that is my greatest challenge.

Most miraculous moment since being saved: My mother was sick with her heart and admitted to hospital to do an operation. I remember going to the hospital and prayed for her, and the doctor did not have to carry out the operation. She also gave her life to the Lord in 1996. The Lord filled her with the Holy Ghost, and I consider those miraculous. Also, my father had a miracle. He was in a coma for almost one month, and we went to the hospital and prayed for him. After he was prayed for, he came out of the coma a couple days after.

Message to Christians: Allow the Lord to have his own way in your life. The Bible says it is not by might nor by power, but by the spirit. We cannot make it on our own. Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it. Without the Lord you cannot do anything. So allow the Lord to have His way in your life to direct it. The Bible says 'In all thy ways acknowledge Him; and He shall direct thy path'.

Message to non-Christians: The Lord is calling you. You might be saying you are not perfect, but none of us is perfect, because the journey of a Christian is one that is led by Christ. The Bible says, 'As many are led by the spirit, they are the sons of God. It is not my works that I should glory; but it is because of the Christ that is in me'. You too can be a great witness for Him if you just allow Him in your life.

Favourite Bible scripture: Psalm 127:1.

A line from one of your favourite songs: 'As a child I grew up and heard a beautiful story; and you are still Lord, you are still my Father'.
