J Wray & Nephew to launch three-litre bottle rum

Contributed-J Wray & Nephew Limited's Managing Director, Clement 'Jimmy' Lawrence, presents the world's first released Emperor Wray to the company's longest serving staff member, Alfred Kanhai, at their Dominica Drive offices.Kanhai has 46 years of service.

J Wray & Nephew Limited's Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum will be launching a historic three-litre (3L) bottle for retail distribution and trade islandwide, starting Monday.

The new 3L size Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum, dubbed the 'Emperor Wray,' is the largest of its kind to be manufactured in Jamaica. The first 100 bottles will be given to Jamaicans who have displayed exemplary national service, from a diverse array of fields including sports, commerce, politics, and more, showing a true spirit of Jamaica.

Over the last 16 years, the Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum brand has received 15 internationally recognised awards, including the esteemed 2014 Ultimate Spirits Challenge Award, entitled the 'Tried and True' Award, for unfailing quality to consumers year after year.

Alfred Kanhai, J Wray and Nephew Limited's longest serving employee with 46 years of service, was the first person worldwide to receive the Emperor Wray. Kanhai works as a general auto technician in the company's Agricultural Division, at the Appleton Garage Department.

A proud Cecil Smith, group brand manager for Rums at J Wray & Nephew Limited, enthused about the launch of the 3L Emperor Wray.

The Emperor Wray will be available for purchase in retail stores and wholesales at a suggested retail price of J$6,000.
