The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) has expressed it's disappointment in the ruling handed down by the Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) on the recently released Rate Determination for the Jamaica Public Service (JPS).

The PSOJ has highlighted areas of particular concern, one such being what it calls, the PSOJ's denial of the provision of revenue allowances to offset JPS foreign exchange losses arising from settlement risk, in circumstances where JPS pays Petrojam for fuel in US dollars and bills its customers in Jamaican dollars.

The PSOJ said it is extremely concerned about the implications of this ruling for the overall health of the electricity sector in Jamaica.
