Pogba is not for sale - Juventus

French midfielder Paul Pogba will not be sold despite significant interest from a host of European clubs, according to Juventus general director, Giuseppe Marotta.

Pogba, who has developed into one of the world's most prized players since allowing his contract to run out at Manchester United and moving to Juventus in 2012 is said to be the target of a reported £77m bid from the United power brokers.

However, Italian giants Juventus are well known for their shrewd business practices and executive Marotta was bullish when dismissing reports that one of the world's biggest clubs will be forced to sell its jewels.

"We have an important player in Pogba and we don't have a need to sell him," said Marotta, who has already scoffed at reported approaches from the likes of Real Madrid and PSG for their 21-year-old French star.

"Every European club is watching him and been in contact," Marotta said. "However, we have a strong team made up of champions, and we want to keep it that way."

The France international played a key role in helping Juve clinch their third successive Serie A title last season, scoring seven goals and setting up seven more in 36 appearances.

"What was a promising player has become a reality," added Marotta, who is regularly fending off interest for other big name Juve players such as Arturo Vidal and Giorgio Chiellini.

Pogba, who joined Juve from United on a free transfer in 2012 and recently signed a contract extension with the Italians until June 2019, is also a reported target of Chelsea and Manchester City.

"He is one of the most expensive players on the market," Pogba's agent Mino Raiola told RAI. "Considering his age, he has room for improvement and he is among the best."
