New York City (NYC) is home to a sizeable number of Caribbean citizens, and Caribbean culture has impacted on all facets of NY life.

With the impact that music has on the socialisation of impressionable young children and teenagers, record producer at New York-based label Palm Tree Flow Records, Nigel Angus, hopes his benefit concert, called 'Be You, Be True', will have a positive impact on children living in New York.

Angus, who acts as CEO for Palm Tree Flow Records, aims to reach the youth through the avenue which they know best, which is music. The producer says he wants to highlight the positive sides of Caribbean music.

"With Be You, Be True benefit school tour, I wanted to showcase headliners from the Caribbean islands in a different light here in NYC, showcasing that our music is not all about violence. This will also show that artistes are willing to give back and put on a great show for the high schools and colleges simultaneously." Nigel Angus said.

'Be You, Be True' is sponsored by Pepsi, Red Bull and Preparatory Academy For Writers. The tour will be headlined by dancehall and reggae star Future Fambo and will also feature K-Starr, Nevadaless, Shain Wong, Kadeem Nichols, LA Sostereo, Pyro, among others.

Music will be provided by DJ Fragg, with special guest electric gospel music DJ Skerrit Bwoy.

All proceeds from the 'Be You, Be True' benefit concert will be donated to the Preparatory Academy For Writers and to a selected school in Jamaica.

The participating artistes will sign CDs and posters after the concerts.
