Up-and-coming recording artiste Anthoniel McGregor, also known as Vybz Kartel's double (Young Addi), says he will be taking bookings from persons interested in filming music videos for songs recorded by Vybz Kartel.

According to the artiste, while he still wants to focus on his own music career, he is currently using his newly found fame, as a Kartel lookalike, to make connections in the music industry.

Based in St Ann, McGregor says he has invested money into his Vybz Kartel transformation, therefore, persons who want him to make appearances in music videos will be required to pay him.

"This is not really for me, it's for the fans of Vybz Kartel who want to see him in music videos but can't, so I lend them my image. Also, I won't be doing this forever because I want to focus on my own career. But at the same time this is a work because I have to spend money putting on tattoo and spend money buy bleaching cream," McGregor said.

Deejay's collaboration

He further said; "Probably if mi did very black mi couldn't do this, so I have to tone the colour because yu dun see how Vybz Kartel thing stay."

The young artiste was recently used as Vybz Kartel's replacement in the music video for the deejay's collaboration with Spice, Conjugal Visit. He was also recruited by Wayne Marshall for the music video of Go Hard which also featured Bounty Killer, Junior Gong, I-Octane and Assassin.

"Mi want big up all Vybz Kartel fans and when yu hear my music support mi same way and big up Spice and Wayne Marshall because a dem push mi out deh," he said.

More effective

Several other producers have released music videos for Kartel using animated images, however, McGregor believes his service as a lookalike is more effective because of the human element.

Persons who want to contact the artiste for his Vybz Kartel look-alike services can call 894-8312.

Vybz Kartel is currently serving a sentence in prison, however, the artiste has still managed to shine ahead of most of his peers in the music industry with a long list of hits including Do Di Maths, Nuh Trust People, Cya Test We, Ignite The World, Business and Without Money.

The deejay celebrated his 39th birthday on Wednesday.
