Detectives from the Ewarton Police Station are in search of a still-at-large suspect responsible for the death of a teenager in Ewarton, St Catherine, on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as 17-year-old Cleo-Lisa 'Liz' Griffiths of a Clarks Avenue, Ewarton, St Catherine, address.

The police's Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) reports that on January 6, at approximately 8:30 a.m., residents stumbled upon the body in bushes in Charlton Meadows in the parish, and summoned the police. Upon their arrival, the body was found with stab wounds with its throat slashed. The scene was processed and the body was removed to the morgue.

A motive is yet to be established for the gruesome attack. The Ewarton police continue to investigate the matter.

THE STAR understands that the deceased was a former student of the Queen's School in St Andrew.
