Clarendon has recorded its first murder for 2015 following Monday night's gun slaying of 46-year-old labourer, Clive Johnson, of a Woodside, Clarendon, address.

According to police's report, some minutes after 7 p.m., armed men ambushed Johnson, a single father, and shot him several times as he made his way home from a neighbouring shop.

"Investigations are still ongoing. At this time, we don't have a motive for the killing. However, initial investigations show that the now deceased man was at home making dinner and went to the shop to get something. On his way home, men armed with guns shot him several times. He died on the spot," a senior investigator at the May Pen Police Station said.

Johnson's family members who were quick on the scene said he was an exemplary father who went the extra mile to feed his daughters.

"He is the most hard-working father. Anywhere the work deh him find it so he can give them (his daughters) food and send them to school," Gaynell Henry, Johnson's niece, said.

"Now see it deh, them kill him. So, what are they (his daughters) going to do?" the niece asked.
