Orville Powell, president of Montego Bay United Football Club, believes his team possesses more quality, depth and resources than the other Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) campaigners, and remains confident this will result in them winning back-to-back RSPL titles this year.

Montego Bay United have been linked with a number of players in the current transfer window, including Portmore United midfielder Ricardo Morris and former national wing back Troy Smith.

Leading RSPL goalscorer, Craig Foster of Reno FC, was also linked with a move to the defending champions.

However, according to Reno FC general manager, Patrick Campbell, such a move is not on the cards.

"We have no intention of selling Craig Foster, he is happy at Reno as far as I know," Campbell said. "MoBay United made some sort of offer, but he won't be sold."

Foster is one of the hottest transfer targets this transfer window, having scored 13 times already.

Powell is satisfied with his team's performances so far, and notes that Montego Bay will reinforce to challenge for the title.

"Results speak for themselves, but based on how we are playing now, we will definitely retain this league title," said Powell.

He added that his team is scoring more goals now than at the same stage last season and are more attacking and balanced.

"We will be bringing in good players this month as we prepare to go all out in the CFU Club Championships," he underlined.

"We are focused on winning and maintaining a high standard locally, plus we want to become a strong regional team," added Powell.

Montego Bay and last season's runners-up, Waterhouse, will contest the 2014-15 CONCACAF Champions League (CCL) next month.

Powell added that Montego Bay's main weakness is defence, which they intend to fix.

"We are conceding too many goals. But our new signings will get the job done and ensure we challenge for titles in every competition," Powell outlined.

The president believes his club has given hope to western football and maintains high hopes of building a dynasty.

Outstanding Montego Bay player Dino Williams, who has excelled locally, has since taken up a playing career with FK Haugesund in the Norwegian Premier League.

Other players from the club, Omar Gordon and Jermaine Woozencroft, are in the United States participating in the MLS Combine.
