Fire investigators are still unable to determine the cause of a fire which destroyed three business places along Camp Road in St Andrew on Sunday, leaving damage estimated at up to $20 million.

An auto-parts store, Everyday Auto Parts, was gutted, while a barbershop and a restaurant were badly damaged in the fire.

Public-relations officer at the Jamaica Fire Brigade, Emeleo Ebanks, says the investigators are probing how the fire started.

More interviews

He says investigators will be conducting more interviews today to determine the cause.

It is reported that the fire started inside the auto-parts store, and according to fire officials, it quickly spread to the adjoining businesses.

A member of the family that owns the auto-parts store, Claudine Scott, said that the business has been operating for more than 12 years, and the fire has left at least 14 persons without jobs.
