Although it was a concept that many persons did not see as worthwhile in the beginning, media personality Jenny Jenny says she is extremely grateful to be celebrating her 10th year of Dancing Dynamites.

"There were sponsors who didn't want it. There were persons who didn't see it as something being worthy of production. I am very happy that we kept on trying," she told THE STAR at the launch of the event on Saturday at the Oakton Entertainment Complex in Half-Way Tree on Saturday.

She further said: "I definitely couldn't do it at all without, first, Jamaicans loving the concept, loving dance, and dancers loving the show. I am overwhelmed and I am truly humbled and grateful that we have managed to do this."

While the auditions are scheduled to begin on Saturday at Bargain Village in May Pen, Jenny Jenny said she was still in disbelief that the show was in its tenth year.

"I can't believe it is 10 years already, just like I can't believe I am 42 this year. It is just something that happens to us.

"When did it happen? Which is why this is a lesson to everybody to just not stop following your dream. If you believe in it, just do it because the journey will take you there," she said.

She also mentioned that there would be some changes this year. But the biggest one of all is the fact that past winners will be competing with current contestants at some point during the show.

"The former winners will join current competitors. The stage will look different. We will have a winners' tour. This is a Shampoo, Syvah, mi head a hurt mi kind of year," Jenny Jenny said.

But the launch would not have been complete without some soulful music from gospel singer Jermaine Edwards. The sponsors also spoke while some gave away goodies to the audience.

At the launch of a dancing show, much dancing is to be expected. The Swedish Dancehall Queen got quite a bit of competition from Jamaican Drucilla in the Puppy Tail competition. Charles Chocolate ambassadors Voicemail performed Step and Shampoo, with several dancers accompanying them on stage. There were also numerous dance routines from previous contestants, including Card Unit and Ed Hardy.
