Tivoli Gardens (TG) snatched a dramatic last-minute win over rivals Waterhouse FC yesterday, edging the visitors 1-0 in a feisty encounter, which was played at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex.

Weston Forest's late strike stunned everyone, none more than goalkeeper Keslo Cousins, who was left rooted like a tree. The goalie could only watch as the ball deflected off a defender, and into his net.

Goalscorer Weston Forrest, who is a former Waterhouse youth and senior player, lauded the win. In a show of respect for his old club, he did not celebrate.

"It was a good performance," he said. "We dug deep, played hard and I am happy it paid off with three points. I hope I can score more goals," he said.

Coach Alvin Shaw lauded his team for going all out for the win. "This was a very good result for us, it will motivate the team, he told STAR Sports.

"We are taking games one day at a time and look forward to playing Boys' Town next,"he outlined.

Anthony Patrick, coach of Waterhouse, pointed to injuries in Waterhouse's camp, which might have affected the final result.

"I credit my team for playing well despite the loss," he noted. "We just have to continue working and get back on track in our next matches," added Patrick.

In yesterday's other games, defending champions Montego Bay United played to a 0-0 draw at Westpow Park in Montego Bay. Rivoli United edged Reno FC 1-0 at the Spanish Town Prison Oval in St Catherine with a goal from Ross Burton, while Harbour View clipped Cavalier by the same scoreline. Nicholas Beckett scored the winner for Harbour View.
