Dillgin now a singer

Dillgin

Entertainer Dillgin returns to the music scene with two singles, 'Shining' and 'Weed And Wheat'.

Both songs are currently enjoying rotation on local airwaves.

Shining was produced by Dillgin for Wall Streetz Records, while Weed And Wheat was produced by Paran Sound.

Dillgin, who has been performing since 2001, emerged on the music scene with the breakout single Cuss Cuss featuring singer Mark Ice. The song's popularity resulted in a number of performances across Europe, the Caribbean and stateside. The song was featured on VP Records' Strictly the Best series, Volume 27.

A near-fatal incident and several life-changing events saw Dillgin relocating from New York to California. He decided to start afresh by singing instead of deejaying.

"While visiting family in New York, I ran into veteran musician Derrick Barnett of Sagittarius and Statement Band, and in the midst of a jam session, the devotional single Shining took shape in what I would like to call 'a metaphysical session'," Dillgin explained.

Shining not only showcases Dillgin's evolution from a deejay to singer, but his spiritual growth, direction and devotion to God and nature.

"I am very conscious of the message and energy that I am projecting into the universe. My vehicle for that is reggae music and the daily principles that I live by. I want people to not only hear my commitment but also to feel it - like how you feel the positive radiance and purification of the sun. Its 'shining', you know!" he said.

Dillgin, whose real name is Robert Bailey, was born in Kingston. As a producer, he is known for songs including Capleton's Never Get Down and Dutty Life, Power And Shower by Beenie Man, Buzz Rock Warrior by Sizzla, and Luciano's Mystery Babylon, among others.
