A man who is accused of damaging a Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus because of road rage, was ordered to replace the mirror he damaged when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday. Pleading guilty to malicious destruction of property is 25-year-old Nicholas White of a Portmore, St. Catherine address. It is alleged that on December 12 at around 9:45 a.m., the JUTC bus operator and the accused were driving on Spanish Town Road in the vicinity of Callaloo Mews, when the accused allegedly used his fist to break the JUTC bus' right rearview mirror, because he stated that the JUTC driver hit his bus mirror with the vehicle while he was overtaking him. White, who is also a bus operator, acknowledged that he was wrong and agreed to replace the bus' mirror. He was told by Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey to take the new mirror with him to court next week Tuesday, December 23. |
