Cops investigate 'Back Road' murder

Detectives from the Bridgeport Police Station are now investigating the circumstances surrounding yesterday's suspicious discovery of a woman at a motel located along a section of Port Henderson Road, more popularly known as 'Back Road', in Portmore, St Catherine.

The deceased woman has been identified as 23-year-old Kimberly Barrett of a Burke Lane, Kingston 8 address.

According to reports from the police's Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), on December 19 at approximately 1:15 a.m., Barrett was found at a 'Back Road' hotel in a pool of her own blood. Subsequently, the police were summoned, and upon their arrival, Barrett was observed with her throat slashed, with stab wounds to the face and chest.

No motive has yet been established for the attack.

Investigations continue.
