The Savanna-la-Mar Police seized more than 200 rounds of ammunition during a patrol on Hudson Street, Savanna-la-Mar in Westmoreland on Thursday.

Information received is that about 1:30 p.m., lawmen were on patrol when a man was seen, who arose their suspicion. The man escaped from the police, leaving behind a bag. A search of the bag revealed 216 assorted rounds of ammunition. The man managed to escape.

Investigations continue.
