Lesly St Fleur, who represents defending champions Montego Bay United, is looking forward to a successful season this year in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL).

The Bahamian, who has scored at key intervals and provided crucial assists to keep the western team in contention, scored a well-taken penalty on Sunday against Boy's Town.

He notched up three goals in three matches prior.

The 25-year-old, who came to Jamaica to pursue a football career, has achieved relative success in four seasons so far.

St Fleur began his sojourn in Jamaica with a brief stint at Sporting Central Academy of Clarendon, before moving on to "greener pastures".

"I grew up playing football on the streets. It (football) is my love and my passion," he said.

Football career

"My dad was a footballer, so playing came natural to me."

The midfield player added that his mother and family encourage his love for the sport and watch his games.

He attended Palm Dale Primary, DW Davis Junior High, and graduated from Doris Johnson Senior School in The Bahamas, before he went in pursuit of a football career.

St Fleur also represented The Bahamas at the youth and senior levels.

"My greatest memory of football in Bahamas is scoring six memorable goals playing as a midfielder/striker," he said.

He says he is enjoying life in Jamaica, singling out the food, music, and culture as highlights of the local experience.

In local football, his greatest memory is winning the RSPL title with MoBay United last season.

"I really cherish memories of winning the league with MoBay last year," he said.

He has scored five goals so far this season.
