Eleven Jamaican women arrested in Bahamas

Bahamian police arrested 77 individuals over a 48-hour period last weekend as part of their anti-crime operation.

Several women who are reportedly Jamaican nationals were also arrested on suspicion of prostitution.

According to Tribune 242, Bahamian police have arrested 11 Jamaican women at a nightclub in Montell Heights in Nassau, after suspecting them of soliciting prostitution. The women were reportedly taken into custody for breach of the Immigration Act. It is believed that the owner of the club was also arrested for breach of the Business Licence Act.

The identities of the Jamaican nationals arrested have not been revealed.

Investigations are ongoing.
