Clarendon taxi operator killed

Detectives from the Hayes Police Station are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a taxi operator in Clarendon on the weekend.

He has been identified as 45-year-old Junior Hines, otherwise called 'Rider', of a Bloomwell, Victoria district, Clarendon, address.

According to the police's Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), at about 10 a.m. last Sunday, a passer-by stumbled upon the body in the parish, and the police were summoned. Upon their arrival to the scene, the body was observed lying in an open lot. It was removed to the morgue pending a post-mortem report.

Investigations are ongoing, police said.
