Atlantic Starr headlines R&B Reggae Concert series

On Saturday, December 27, all roads will lead to the Golf Academy in New Kingston, for an after-Boxing Day concert headlined by internationally acclaimed R&B group, Atlantic Starr.

Another in the highly successful R&B Reggae Concert series, which was headlined by the legendary Percy Sledge and the late John Holt, in March of this year, this event will also feature a selection of Jamaica's finest reggae talents.

Veteran reggae acts

Flying the flag high in the reggae segment of the concert will be none other than veterans Ken Boothe and Derrick Harriot, along with Digicel Rising Stars alums Noddy Virtue, Nikiesha Barnes, Jodian Pantry, new Rising Stars winner, T-Rizzy, and Roc Riva. The artistes will be backed by the legendary Fab 5 Band.

Renowned for enduring blockbuster hits such as Masterpiece, Secret Lovers, If Your Heart Isn't In It and Love Always, Atlantic Starr emerged in the '70's with a funk-disco sound but found success in the '80s with adult contemporary ballads.

This R&B outfit has been described as one of the most consistently successful soul bands of the '80s, with a basketful of memorable songs that still sound good today'.

members include the Lewis brothers, Wayne and Jonathan, Melissa Pierce and L'john Epps.

Having thrilled Jamaican audiences at the Jamaica Jazz Festival in 2009, Atlantic Starr is looking forward to reconnecting with and mesmerising its legions of adoring fans.
