Champelle comes to St Thomas

Kingston is probably the mecca of all-inclusive events, but promoter Dwayne Brown said he plans to bring this concept to St Thomas in an effort to raise the standard of events in that parish.

On December 20, Brown will host Champelle at Lyssons Beach, St Thomas.

He said events are hosted in the parish but not at the highest level possible.

Quality offering

"They don't have any event like that in St Thomas. It has changed how people perceive events. We offer quality to patrons, and when they come and see that they will push for other events in the parish to do the same thing. Other events in St Thomas will have to step up to the platform and adjust their set-up to facilitate patrons," he said.

While it is the first staging in St Thomas, the event has been held on previous occasions in St Andrew, but he decided to change the venue because of the support he has received.

Good patronage

"It has grown and we usually have good patronage from St Thomas so we decided to bring it there. St Thomas doesn't have a lot of all-inclusive events, so we want people to buy into the all-inclusive concept," Brown said.

Already, people have been buying into the concept, as Brown said he has been selling tickets.

He said people have also been anticipating the line-up of selectors that includes Coppershot Disco, Zone Warriors, Arif Cooper and Lando Raverz.

Brown said there are also other treats in store for patrons who can enter the event for $1,500, general, or VIP, at $2,500.
