![]() ![]() GEORGE HENRY, STAR Writer Name: Leighton Campbell Church you attend: Swaby's Hope New Testament Church of God in Manchester Position in the church: Pastor Tell us about the moment you got your conviction: It was on August 19, 1987, a Wednesday night, 27 years ago. An Evangelist by the name of Sister Nation was preaching at Sandy Bay in Hanover, and while she was preaching, I felt the need to give my life to the Lord. There was nothing spectacular that took place; it was just simply listening and accepting what was presented by the preacher. What has been your most challenging moment since becoming a Christian? Going through school was the most challenging for me when I got saved. Getting saved was during my teenage years. Going through school at the time was always challenging. Like every other teenager, it was challenging to balance the aspect of morality and against what every other teenager was doing. So temptations existed and have always been a challenge, and it is always a challenge, especially to young people. Most miraculous moment: In 2005, while pastoring the Hillside New Testament Church of God in Manchester, I was involved in a motor vehicle accident in which my car was totally written off. I came out of that accident without even a scratch. Nothing serious happened to me, and I consider that to be a miracle. God was truly at the centre. Message to Christians: Be persistent, and always try to be on the good side as much as you can. Be yourself, be genuine and not superficial. Do not allow people to think that you are superhuman, when you are simply just a human. That will work for you. Message to non-Christians: There is always the need for you to give your life to Jesus. Repent and be saved, because the coming of the Lord is nearer that you think. Favourite Bible scripture: Romans chapter 8. Favourite song: 'Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing'.
