Lorde likes to search through rubbish bins in her spare time. The Yellow Flicker Beat singer has insisted she doesn't do much in her spare time, unless she is near a trash can.

Speaking about her enthusiasm for recycling junk, she shared: "I'm boring because my favourite thing to do is trawl the inorganics. It stays on the street for a few days and then it's collected and put into a landfill somewhere. But people drive around and go through other people's household rubbish."

The 18-year-old star revealed her unusual 'inorganics' hobby has resulted in some fantastic fashion finds, although it can be a little awkward when she is caught by fans.

Lorde told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "And honestly, I've gotten amazing furniture, shoes, hats, jackets. I did this three weeks ago! Recognised every single time ... so embarrassing."

The brunette singer - real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor, explained her desire to stay off the red carpet was to keep herself "stress-free".

She shared: "I thought, 'I don't have to do this if I don't want to.' It's been so amazing and so stress-free not doing it."
