Decomposing body of female found in Duhaney Park

The St Andrew South police have commenced a major criminal investigation following the discovery of a decomposing body of an unidentified female in a shallow grave on a hillside at Gordon Terrace in Duhaney Park, St Andrew, on December 10.

The body, which is believed to be between 19 and 21 years old, is of brown complexion, medium build, has processed hair, silver navel ring and about 5 feet 4 inches long. It was clad in a black and gold female jersey with the number 85 printed on it. The body was also wrapped in a yellow raincoat when it was discovered.

Facts are that about midday, police acting on information, went to the back of a premises on Gordon Terrace, where they discovered a shallow grave with the decomposing body. The body had multiple stab wounds and bruises. The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue for post-mortem.

The police are appealing to anyone with information that can assist with the investigations or identify the body, to contact them at 923-6197, Crime Stop at 311, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
