Man accused of double killing gets bail extension |

WESTERN BUREAU: The St James man accused of murdering his girlfriend and their infant son and dumping their bodies near a National Water Commission pump just outside Montego Bay, last December, is booked to return to court on January 28. Alahandre Green, who is charged with murder in connection to the deaths of 20-year-old Melissa Evans, and the couple's four-year-old son, Jeliana Green, had his bail extended when he appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday. throat slashed Evans and young Jeliana had been reported missing on December 27, 2013, after they had gone to purchase ice cream and did not return. The following day, Evans' body was found with her throat slashed and her head partially severed, while the child's body was found floating in a tank nearby. On Wednesday, clerk of court Natalie Malcolm told presiding magistrate Carolyn Tie that several documents were outstanding from the prosecution's case-file, including the forensic report, the post-mortem report and a DNA report. As a result, the matter was set for mention on January 28, and Green had his bail extended until that date. - C.T. |
