Following the success of his most recent single 'Road Tonight', which featured a sample from Desmond Dekker's 'Israelites', singer Kafinal has once again paid homage to the artistes of yesteryear.

He recently teamed up with veteran deejay Daddy U-Roy for the single titled Nah Complain. The song was produced by the Sing N Act Entertainment label.

In a release to the media, Kafinal explained how the collaboration came about.

"U-Roy is one of my mother's favourite artistes of all time, and with her playing his music in the house I became an avid fan whovalued U-Roy's immeasurable contribution towards music in Jamaica. As a matter of fact, when I started singing, my mother mentioned that if I ever were to do a collaboration, she would love for me to do one with U-Roy. As I was writing this song about going through certain life experiences, I heard U-Roy's voice in my head and thought that it would be the perfect time to get his upbeat, jovial and positive vibe to complement Nah Complain and in doing so would fulfill one of my mothers' musical wishes," said Kafinal.

Nah Complain was recorded in September at the Tuff Gong studios in Kingston. Among those who worked on the project are Sly Dunbar, Owen 'Bassie' Rennals, Paul 'Wrong Move' Crossdale and Courtland 'Gizzmo' White.

Kafinal pointed out that working with musical legends was not a new direction for him musically.

"I enjoy music overall, and it reflects the current situation. Wherever my music goes next will be reflective of my mood," he noted. He lists John Holt, Alton Ellis, Bob Marley, Jacob Miller and Desmond Dekker as among his musical heroes.

"Desmond Dekker inspired my vocal performance on Nah Complain. My previous single, Road Tonight, was a tribute to him," he added.
