Grammy's reggae album showdown

Reggae greats go head-to-head for accolade

The Recording Academy yesterday announced six nominees for the Best Reggae Album category for the 57th Grammy's via twitter.

Ziggy Marley was nominated for his album Fly Rasta; Lee 'Scratch' Perry with Back On the Controls; Sean Paul's Full Frequency'; Shaggy's Out of Many, One Music; Sly & Robbie and Spicy Chocolate The Reggae Power; and SOJA's Amid The Noise And The Haste received the nod.

Ziggy Marley, Lee Scratch Perry, Sean Paul, Shaggy, Sly & Robbie have all been successful in taking home the Grammy for the best reggae album category in the past.

American reggae band SOJA, produced by Jamaican Dwayne 'Supa Dups' Chin-Quee, has earned its first nomination.

Amid The Noise And The Haste is their sixth studio album.

The 57th Grammy winners will be announced at an official ceremony on February 8.
