Two sentenced to 44 years' imprisonment |

Jolyn Bryan, Star Writer Two men were each sentenced to 44 years in prison when they appeared before the Gun Court in Kingston in November on charges of shooting with intent, robbery with aggravation Twenty-seven-year-old Keno Anderson, of Springfield, St Thomas and 24-year-old Richardo Henry, of Allman Town, Kingston, were each charged with two counts of shooting with intent and sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment. Additionally, both were sentenced to seven years for robbery with aggravation; five years for illegal possession of firearm and two years for illegal possession of ammunition. Each sentence will run concurrently. According to reports, Anderson and Henry, along with three other men, attempted to rob patrons of a bar in Duhaney Park, St Thomas, on July 3, 2013. The gang was challenged by a licensed firearm holder who shot and wounded one of the robbers. The men made their escape in a white Nissan Tiida where the injured robber was subsequently thrown from the vehicle. He succumbed to his injuries after being accosted by the police and taken to hospital. The car was intercepted in Yallahs, where one occupant escaped, and the others were arrested. |
