Stylysh shoots 'Prison Wife' video

Building Block Records artiste Stylysh returned to the island this week after a pair of successful shows in French Guiana alongside dancehall star Tommy Lee.

"The shows dem sell off, people are starting to connect with my music in a real way, I got good forwards for my new songs and, of course, they love my older material. so I am building a nice catalogue," she said.

Earlier this week, sheshot a music video for her radio single, Prison Wife, with director Wayne Marshall of Marshall Artz Studio.

"People are going to be impressed with this video, and the message is deep because there are a lot of women in pain in Jamaica because they have loved ones in prison, and this video tries to capture some of that," she said.

The sexy dancehall stunner has been working hard over the past month. She recorded a slew of new singles, including No Eyewater on Seanizzle's new rhythm, and Willing Fi Share on Justus Arison's 'High Life' rhythm and Dis Mi A CryFah for UIM Records.

She amped up her street-promotion push and that move had paid dividends.

Aggressive promotion

"I have been doing aggressive street promotion, anywhere the party de, you will buck Stylysh in the streets. I did Uptown Mondays and Mojito Mondays earlier this week, and the selectors showed me love with the Seanizzle song and Willing Fi Share got a nice forward, the girls dem walk out pon it," Stylysh said.,

She got rave reviews, for a dancehall mixtape at the end of October, from dancehall selectors and radio disc jockeys. She will be sounding the war drums for Sting 2014 with a new single called Talk And Nuh Care.
