Last Saturday night, Kirkvine Sports Complex, Manchester, hosted one of the year's biggest dances, and certainly one of the most star-studded. Sound system selector Pink Panther of Black Kat Entertainment celebrated his birthday by inviting reggae and Guinness lovers to join him and a host of special guests, partying into the early hours. The seven-time World Clash Champion called on friends such as Bugle, Fantan Mojah, Stacious, Romain Virgo and a long list of some of Jamaica's much-loved performers, to spend the night celebrating with him. Early birds turned up at around 11 p.m., with the crowd becoming much thicker as the night went on. The vibe was strong and from early. The 1,000 plus patrons, fuelled by Guinness' $1,000 bucket deals, sang and gyrated along to tightly mixed selections, with songs from ever-popular incarcerated deejay Vybz Kartel warming up the crowd before the live performances. Chart-topping artiste Bugle performed a particularly strong set, with patrons singing along to every word, showing why Bugle - whose performance at Arthur Guinness Concert wowed the crowd - is one of Jamaica's hottest properties. Hits such as Nuh Compatible and Don't Blame Life made up his set. According to Guinness Brand Manager Racquel Nevins, the brew has always supported the dancehall and its sound-system culture. "We are happy with the success of this event. Our music culture has deep roots in the sound system, so this was a must for us," Nevins said.
