Nicki Minaj says sorry for Nazi imagery

Nicki Minaj - File

Nicki Minaj has apologised after being accused of using Nazi imagery in her new music video. The 31-year-old rapper insists she didn't "come up with the concept" for 'Only' - which was heavily criticised for 'glorifying Hilter' following its release on Saturday - and claims it was inspired by a cartoon and 'Sin City,' but takes "full responsibility" for offending anyone.

The Anaconda hitmaker wrote on Twitter Tuesday: "The artist who made the lyric video for Only was influenced by a cartoon on Cartoon Network called 'Metalocalypse' & 'Sin City'. Both the producer, & person in charge of over seeing the lyric video (one of my best friends & videographer: A. Loucas), happen to be Jewish. I didn't come up w/the concept, but I'm very sorry & take full responsibility if it has offended anyone. I'd never condone Nazism in my art (sic)."

Nicki, who recently split from her boyfriend of 14 years, Safaree Samuels, is also dating the videographer, Alex.

When asked by gossip website TMZ.com if she wanted to respond to accusations that her video was anti-Semitic, she replied: "No! this was my new Jewish boyfriend Alex. why would I do that? We did this together."
