Reggae artiste Queen Calida is aggressively promoting her new single, Find A Way.

According to the artiste, the song is dedicated to single mothers and daughters and explains how positive values should be passed down to children through parenting. The artiste says she aims to inspire and evoke human emotions through her lyrics and hopes at the end of her career she will leave a positive legacy like reggae legend Bob Marley.

Find A Way has been receiving positive feedback in the US and an accompanying music video was recently released to aid with the promotion. The video was filmed in Queens and Brooklyn, New York and was produced by Queen Calida herself, though directed by J. Herby of Unlimited Productionz. The music video also features US-based actress Marsha Hamilton, who was assistant director.

Queen Calida says the video embodies memories and experiences with her daughter and gives an insight into the lives of single mothers.

"I simply retraced our steps from the experiences frozen in my memory. The park we featured in the video is the same one we used to go to. I have been writing for a while but this song came from the deepest part of me. I wanted to ensure that she saw and understood and could access the reason we are not together. I made it one of the motivational tools for my musical and life journey. The fight continues as I persist through the pain and hardship to Find A Way. I believe there is a light at the end of every tunnel and that's where I'm headed," she said.

Queen Calida was born in Seaview Gardens, St Andrew. She has been featured in JCDC festival competitions during her formative years.
