God was my rock in college

Minister Frayah Gayle

GEORGE HENRY, STAR Writer

NAME: Frayah Gayle

Church you attend: I attend the Waltham Park New Testament Church of God. However, I am a member of the May Pen New Testament Church where I was in charge of teens' ministry, drama and teens choir.

Position: Youth Minister.

How long have you been saved? I have been saved for over 13 years.

Tell us about your moment of conviction: I grew up in the church; but as a teenager I wanted to go my own way. God spoke to me through an aunt. She kept reminding me that there was nothing out there for me. While at a youth congress at the Mandeville New Testament Church, the Holy Spirit moved through me, I found myself on my knees and God started to speak to me. That was where my real conviction came.

most challenging moment since becoming a Christian: While I was a student at Bethel Bible College, I had financial challenges finding money to pay my school fees and do other things. However, after praying to God for a breakthrough, I was able to make ends meet. Some of the money I got, I did not even know where it came from.

Most miraculous moment since becoming saved: Since 2007 up to now, I have lost almost 10 family members. This usually happens during examination time. However, I have never gotten a grade point average less than 3.5 during those stressful periods when I felt as if I could not manage. God has always come through for me. My grades have never gone down. I see that as a miracle, because persons in those positions would normally give up.

Message to Christians: I hope there is no playing around because our time on this Earth is short. Our span of life is like the spread of a hand; so do with it what God has commissioned you to. Do not play around; do not think you have time tomorrow because you do not know if tomorrow is promised to you. Do it now.

Message to non-Christians: Time waits on no man. So make it right now and stop playing around with your life.

Favourite bible scripture: Isaiah 53.

Favourite line of one of your favourite songs: "Jesus knows what I am going through".
